Motivational Counseling
Whether concerns are related to emotional distress or confusion over inner struggles, relationship or family difficulties, or substance use or other addictive processes of any kind, Deb's style is to engage clients in a way that allows for discovery into what is beneath the unrest to assist them on their journey toward feeling more balanced.
If anxiety or worries are related to finances, Financial Social Work Counseling offers a way for individuals to take control of their money through budgeting and financial intelligence techniques, which in turn promotes a feeling of control in life.
Substance Use Evaluations and Counseling
As a registered service provider for the Nebraska Probation System, Substance Use Evaluations (Chemical Dependency Evaluations) which Deb conducts are accepted by the Nebraska court system. With her conversational style, clients find that this often helps to diminish an already stressful situation. Yet, she is discreet and professional. Your information is protected under Federal Confidentiality Rules (42 CFR Part 2). The results of the evaluation are generally complete within 3 to 5 days. Additionally, Substance Use Outpatient Counseling is done on a one-on-one basis and also is accepted by the Nebraska Probation System.

Another Option For You
Family Intervention Coaching
There is a very good chance that either you or someone you know has a family member who experiences problems with alcohol or other addictions considering that about 65% of Americans drink alcohol and between 9 – 10 % of these individuals have an alcohol use disorder ranging from mild to severe.
To try to help individuals deal with their problems, family members or other loved ones often become involved in a process called “intervention,” a concept that was first founded by Alcoholics Anonymous in the 1930s. Although family members alone can and do manage without a professional intervention coach to guide the process, ultimately the results are often confrontational rather than beneficial and concluding with a successful intervention of moving toward help for the loved one.
Professionally coached interventions tend to be successful 95% of the time, according to Picard, F, M.S., Family Intervention: Ending the cycle of addiction and co-dependency, (1989).
Debra's role as an intervention coach is to provide families with simple communication tools for successful interventions; to help families distinguish between healthy love for their substance-using loved-one and the co-dependent, or damaging love that may hinder their recovery; and to help families understand that the planned intervention is just one part of a healthy, respectful approach to recovering from illness.
The confrontational, overtly stressful experiences as portrayed on a popular television show are unnecessary. A sound intervention is far more natural, respectful, and successful if facilitated with loving, gentle attitudes and professional support. Deb would be happy to answer questions about helping your family. She has experience conducting such intervention coaching sessions for over 15 years.
